I saw the movie awhile ago, I liked your analysis and now I'm curious about the book. I felt like somehow there were weird parallels to current events while I was watching it but I took it more like a metaphor, not a premonition. The characters mostly annoyed me but the atheist nuns totally cracked me up. Does this strangeness have anything in common with Laurel Canyon and Tavistock I wonder?
It is certainly a metaphor. Whether its also a premonition isn't clear to me, but I imagine the folks living in that area are retroactively experiencing it as such.
Right. So that's one of the theories circulating. I listened to a couple disaster management guys claiming there's simply no way those train cars could have had the purported toxic vinyl chloride on board. They said if they had, the explosion would have looked totally different, people in the immediate vicinity would have died right away, and the footage from the creeks shows what looks to be an iridescent gasoline sheen. Also, according to reporter friend who is there, no one was wearing any kind of hazmat PPE while cutting open the train cars, climbing inside them, cleaning them out, etc....That said, local wildlife is sick and dying, so something is going on. I am refraining from drawing conclusions for the time being. Someone needs to take samples from the region for independent testing asap.

The theory i was referencing there wasn't claiming something hadn't happened, just not the way it appeared, and involved a whole plot to blow up internet trunks lines along that train route which would have benefitted Vanguard who owns stock in Norfolk Southern. I consciously opted not to go into detail about the different theories circulating. I found this one extra whacky. The term 'false flag" was used by those articulating this theory, and you're right, it's actually not quite the right term. I guess we may need to develop even more complex terms moving forward.
I can’t imagine, despite your cogent and thoughtful, well-executed work, that the esoteric and occulted symbolism is being understood here. Regrettably, I lack the mental precision, patience and faculty to elucidate what, for me, is obvious, but which would require a treasure trove of free time, mediative focus and impossible sensitivity to an unknown audience to elucidate.
In short, Hollywood/ the Forrest of Mirrors, is an intensely spooky environment; their culture a difficult place and their lack of shared lived space with the uninitiated makes their artistic sensibilities in these kinds of mirrorball ritualistic expressions unfathomable to those who may sense- but cannot understand- the dichotomy between these worlds... it’s something I’ve described to confidants, in a kind of shorthand, as being not unlike the ‘Upside Down’ of Netflix’s Montauk/ Stranger Things project...
...it requires a willingness to accept interdimensionality as a starting place- and an endpoint- in a quantum scenario, beyond artistic affect, wherein penetrating our shared spaces with unknown goals, for purposes unknown, to those not read into the production, seems utterly confusing.
This is part of the process. Events are to be seen for their symbolic/ magical value, both forwards and backwards in time, to effect a given value... which is not simply handed over, but protected from the view of the uninitiated.
Basically, to acknowledge the existence of an esoteric death cult that hides itself in plain sight could be a good starting/ending anchoring point in spacetime.
Now imagine that this is a leering gesture of focused power and intent- not designed for mere entertainment purposes, but as a kind of Bat Signal, broadcast with the tools of that industry of light and magic- and you may begin to see behind the curtain, or veil, into this hidden or occulted realm.
When there is a forward<>backwards element, imagine that this is a tool, a resource, a weapon- being used for a targeted purpose- to control the fabric of reality/ realities, and that the uninitiated are simply part of the medium used, to great affect, for these people who consider themselves Masters of the Universe.
(These are people who pride themselves on their ability to manipulate causal plane- astral- dimensions, to step in and out of time, and to orient others around their focal points; what to us is disorienting is for them an indication of effective control over matter. This is a process of a spiritual culture that has stretched over millennia and is in full effect in these modern times- despite an assumption by the uninitiated that such things could or should be relegated to superstition, to science fiction or our streaming services’ viewing offerings, and nothing more.)
Every event has more or less been proven to be a hoax, but this one is true, everyday we are besieged by a great number of articles from the 'media' and actors, they will warn of further death and tyranny.
The 'media', intelligence agencies & associated agenturs will try and saturate, change and alter our consciousness using fear and ‘predictions’ that have already been scripted & 'planned' to come true.

What if the train tanks were loaded with flammable liquid that wasn't as toxic as vynil chloride in order to create a faux-disaster?
1. Keeps Americans shocked, outraged, and distracted.
2. Allows those in on the plan to snap up good farmland on the cheap.
3. Confuses BRICS nations as to the true strength of the U.S.
4. Gives the DoD-Hollywood special effects geeks the chance to level up their skillz.

“False Flag” doesn’t mean the event didn’t happen, it means it was perpetrated by people blaming others for it to further a political end.
